I was referring to date, monetary and decimal number formats (European
vs. American formatting conventions for decimal numbers). I wasn't
proposing any particular solution, I was just stating that support for
European and American formatting conventions can be implemented
without causing any ambiguity. It's been done in other languages.

I think support for internationalization in Java and MS .NET go beyond
Unicode support, although I'm not an expert in either. I don't have
any opinion on how these things should be implemented, but anyone who
plans to develop software for the international market, or even
regional markets, has to handle the problem somehow. Unless you're
just using CP for your own personal use, but that seems contrary to
the whole concept of a component-based software industry.

David.
