>From the last 8.5 years since the release of BlackBox as open source software we know what it takes to maintain the product as a community project: reviewing contributions, helping to improve them, integration and testing, having the courage to say "no" and to communicate it well, … The list goes on.

Maintaining the level of quality we are used to from earlier releases of BlackBox is not only challenging but requires a lot of dedication and time. Windows 7, as an example, was released 4 years ago and we still have no reliable solution to run BlackBox as a 32-bit application on the 64-bit variant of Windows 7.

We finally have to acknowledge the fact, that we are not even able to keep up with basic maintenance of BlackBox, at least in the "western part" of the community.
