Robert and Bernhard,
It's actually easier for me to just insert a bitmap image into my
BB document and create my complex equations as a bitmap.
I can see what I am doing without having any intermediary syntax
that needs to be parsed.

I don't know if you can embed that in BlackBox, but you can export the LaTeX
string into the clipboard and use it with CasketLatex there. I never minded
the syntax of formulas in Latex and I have never seen better typographic
results than TeX/LaTeX for mathematical stuff.

Yes, well, I can understand that.
Some time ago I bought the 'Professional' edition of Mathtype, the
big brother of the Microsoft Word equation editor. Unlike its little
brother it did work reliably as an OLE object inside BlackBox
documents.
Unfortunately I still hated it. But people have different
tatstes; maybe it is
the right solution for you.
Maybe the routine LibMisc.SetToTop might be useful, or
give you ideas.
Look it this - I suspect it is close to what you are asking for.
