Folks,

I know very little about fonts but need to use special characters now
and again.
Specifically I found on the web a font that I need called KlausBFraktur
which has the right gothic forms I desire.

Windows says this is a True Type font. It seems to be stored as a .ttf
(TIFF) file. The windows font editor knows how to display it but that
is all that it does. If I drop this file into the folder c:\WINDOW\Fonts
and restart BlackBox then this font does *not* show up in BlackBox's
attributes/fonts.

If I try to open the file using IrfanView or Paint so as to store it as a
.bmp file those editors don't know how to handle the file.

SO...to get around this problem I simple opened the file using the Windows
font editor (default application when I click on the file) and then did a
'print screen' to capture the single character (in this case) that I needed.
I then edited the screen image and cut out my character (upper case F)
and saved the character as a .bmp file.

I then used this .bmp file to insert the image into the text of my research
notes where I wanted it. It looks just fine BUT this is a kludge.

How does one install new fonts into BlackBox?

-Doug
