A specific interest and motivation is absolutely essential for any project to support BlackBox.

I can say this at present:

For some specific reasons, within the Russian scientific and educational communities, there is just such specific interest and motivation (and, since last week, a major pledge of support from Russian Academy heavyweights, which event is a significant political milestone) to work with BlackBox and other Oberons in a serious and large-scale manner.
A version of BlackBox will be supported, as was announced earlier (www.inr.ac.ru/~blackbox/) -- if only to fully support the cyrillic alphabet in the Text subsystem -- a mandatory requirement for the educational community.
The version will be specifically targeted at CERN-like physics, which is extremely broad in scope of course.

All the comments made here are carefully monitored, and we know about fortran etc.
OF COURSE, no need to worry about language modifications etc.: nothing (if anything at all) will be done for the sake of sheer experimentation -- there is neither time nor other resources for that).

We have already started to examine the BB sources (as well as ETH Oberon, etc.) from the view point of the Linux port.
So far we have not succeded to restore BB from sources:
Kernel uses interface modules KERNEL32 and USER32 that have no sources in the 15beta, whereas the sources is only for WinApi. The latter appears to cover the functionality of the two -- but the Kernel source will have to be changed accordingly before it will be possible to recompile the Windows version of BlackBox.
This is unexpected, but should be doable.
