Windows has downward compatibility back to DOS. Thus lower or upper case
letters are treated equal - or not. So, even if you respect 8+3 filenames
it depends on your Windo(w)s settings how they are stored in the hidden
filename (on disk you still have 8+3 names, something like abcdefg~1.ext).
I believe some of the loading "miracles" will disappear if you do the
following:
Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools/Folder Options.../File Types; check the
settings for ODC files. In the 'Extended' dialog highlight option 'open'
and check the associated command; it should read like this:
"E:\Programme\Informatik\BlackBox\BlackBox.exe" /o "%1" [In case you see
some more or less unreadable characters in front of the E: or behind .exe
or around %1 - these are (double) quotes, HEX 22X]. In this the quotes are
the essential part(s), they tell windows to look up the complete path and
filename(!) not only the abbreviated system entry from FAT(??) whatsoever.
Hope this will help!?
Regards
Harro
