Dear BlackBox Users
It is my pleasure to announce that Release 1.4 Beta of the BlackBox Component Builder can be
downloaded from our ftp server. The address is:
ftp://ftp.oberon.ch/BlackBox/Win/BBox14Beta.exe
You will find new components adding many new features, such as
- controls (Trees, Tab-Dialogs, Tables)
- text editor extensions (headers / footers)
- development tools (Exe-file packer, module dependency analysis)
- improved OLE-connection (OLE automation interface generator)
and many more.
For information about news in the 1.4 Release please refer to the document "Docu/BB-Diff" included
in the online documentation of the Release (see the Help text for a link).
It is our intention to collect feedback about this beta release up to approx. January 1st, 2001.
Depending on that feedback we will then come up with a schedule for the final release.
The beta release is intended for preview and reliability testing. It is feature complete and we will
not be able to take up suggestions for new features for the 1.4 final release.
You may download and use the 1.4 Beta Release for free until the 1.4 Final Release becomes
available. The license to use 1.4 Beta expires with the announcement of 1.4 Final being available.

For the time being, our consulting and project business loads us with so much work, that I have some
difficulties keeping our web pages up-to-date. Hence, it may still take a few more days until you
will be able to find a proper announcement on the web as well. Despite this, I wanted to get this
announcement out while it's still 2nd half of November :-)
