I just tried Layout->Replace (BB1.6rc6) and replacing subsys names works for me.
In the "Replace strings in Control Fields" dialog I have all check boxes set.
In the form I did this experiment right now subsys names have been replaced in control button fields, text fields, check boxes and captions.
So I guess it will work for all controls.

I discovered that Layout->Replace.. does not replace the subsystem
name within the "Control:" field visible from the Inspector. This makes
conversion of old forms to new forms very tedious since hand editing
each control field is necessary. For example, I previously was using
CtlsSliders.Slider and wished to change that to UsbSliders.Slider where
Usb is the single subsystem I have created for a client.
I request that Layout->Replace.. be modified to act also on the "Control:" field
of a form.
