Re: [BLACKBOX] TCP and Windows: Problem

Hi

It seems like everyone has a different experience.

I can't get '0.0.0.0:0' to work on my XP machines.

'127.0.0.1:900' works on XP 32-bit, not on my XP 64-bit.

'a.b.c.d:900' works on both XP 32 & XP 64, where a.b.c.d is the actual IP address.

'Name:900' also works on both, where Name is the actual computer name.

Does anyone know how to get the string 'a.b.c.d' from within BlackBox?. Actually I've forgotten how to get it manually from the Control Panel.

Cheers

Robert

        Hi,
this solves the problem for the local address (where by the way I also have no problems with 127.0.0.1 instead of 0.0.0.0 replacing the empty string). However, if I use a remote address other then 127.0.0.1, I also always get the 'invalid argument' with Windows 7, while on XP it works.
Does anybody have a hint how to solve this? I already set the application to administrator right and XP compatibility...

        Kind regards

        Hi ϸòð,
        your hint solved the problem.
I called "NewStream" with local adr being an empty string, which worked well with Windows XP but did not work with Windows 7.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
