Thanks to all who sent ideas / comments / advice to solve my problem.
In the meantime I contacted the vendor of the DLL but up to now I
don't have a solution.
Bernhard:
The module below named TrialsWin contains some experimental code to
read / modify environment variables (e.g. path) within BB. I used it
to set path and to check if BB is able to see the correct value.
