That's right. To be useful "GoToLine" has to be put into a menu. The problem is that our command has a parameter; so we need to use a global var instead... To avoid side effects with that global we do without DEC (line)... Some other changes were incorporated to improve handling of empty lines.

I assume you can put it into a menu. I have a subsystem named "Today"
that is a handy repository of such things. I also would make the line
number an interactor variable. So perhaps a dialog box with the line
number and a "Goto" command button, accessible from "Today". I think
the dialog cannot be opened as an ordinary panel, or the focus shifts.
