Hi Chris,
You are correct!: ".odc" had been associated with "Office Data Connection"... I re-installed BlackBox and it took control of that extension again. Even more, ".pac" files are also correctly opened now.

Thanks for your help.

BlackBox installation / file associations should still work OK in Windows
Vista. I just tried installing BlackBox on Windows 7 Beta (effectively just
Vista with a few improvements) and it registered the .odc files without any
problem.

What might have happened on your system is that a Microsoft (Office?)
application was installed after BlackBox and it ambushed the ODC
file-association for its own (odc = 'office data connection') files.

Another possibility perhaps is that you were not logged in as an
Administrator when you installed BlackBox or you are logged in as a
different user when you run BlackBox.

It does not work that way in Vista. The program has to be first
registered under Windows register. Normally that occur automatically during
program installation, but BlackBox does not register itself at that moment.

Of course, once BlackBox is running you can open .odc files witout
problems using menu File-->Open; but, outside BlackBox, if you double click
a .odc a Microsoft application will be called instead.

       Cheers: René Dorta.

               René ,
In Windows XP you go to Control Panel->Folder Options->File
Types and add the .odc extension with its application.
I would hope that Vista does the same thing. I don't have
Vista.

How can I register BlackBox in Windows Vista
Register?, so I can associate ".odc" files to be open as an "Oberon
document".

Thanks for any help: René Dorta.
