Dear Bernhard

Many thanks for that very useful summary! It seems sensible to wait for
a while to see if Fyodor could update us on any progress in Russia. The
next step, if appropriate, would be to set up a source-forge (or
Launchpad) project - I don't really know anything about this but am
willing to learn and help.
