Well said.

BlackBox is currently being rather aggressively
promoted in Russian for Russian high schools
via the web site http://www.inr.ac.ru/~info21/
The audience spans the space from Lviv to Magadan
and from Murmansk to Israel :-)
OM reports that the number of requests for educational version
from that space has risen noticeably.

The most interest comes from the oil rich and industrial regions
of Siberia with a strong education system.

The marketing slogan for education is,
Component Pascal/Oberon is the best introduction into the
"standard programming paradigm" (Oberon/CP, Java, C#).

BlackBox is being happily used in an experimental course of
modern programming at
the physics dept. of the Moscow State University.
The course is being well attended (including the faculty).

Two offers to repeat the course came from physics depts. of
universities to the west of Eastern Europe.
Unfortunately, these can only be satisfied to a limited extent.

Another important point is that BlackBox is perfect for "non-professional"
programmers, i.e. people from other professions who need really serious
programming (like physicists ... linguists) but who cannot afford
to struggle with complexities and limitations of other platforms.
The number of such people, and their programming sophistication
grows, adn the fact is being underestimated by the "professional"
computing world.

Some significant software is being written in BlackBox
for physics projects related to LHC/CERN (2006-2020).

(Incidentally, physicists keep asking if a Linux version is available.
A Linux grid is being offered for unlimited computations
but I cannot use it.)

Cheers
